Worcester-Birmingham & Droitwich Canals Society in conjunction with Black Country Radio went on a boat trip on Thursday 21st July between 7am & 10am. Radio presenter Phil Jones Hammersley came on board to broadcast live to Birmingham and the Black Country with a selection of interviews and live music. The trip left early in the morning from The Mailbox and managed to get as far as the Black Country Living Museum. Live music was performed by young Redditch singer-songwriter Stu Wolfenden whilst sitting on the bows of society narrowboat ‘Cecilia’. Phil was keen to hear from members and associates and many were interviewed live on air including Bill Lambert, Mary Green, skipper John Hemingway, Nick Morris from The Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust and Dr. Peter Best from The Lapal Canal Trust. Here are a few pictures taken on the day.
