Recent Society Meeting Tuesday 10th November via ‘Zoom’.

We were are extremely pleased to have Worcestershire based Local Canal Crime Fiction author Andy Griffee join us on our first-ever virtual meeting using ‘Zoom’.

Andy’s first crime mystery is titled ‘CANAL PUSHERS’ and the action takes place on the Stratford Canal and the Worcester & Birmingham Canal. It follows the fortunes of unemployed and newly-divorced journalist Jack Johnson after he picks up a secondhand narrowboat at Wootton Wawen and becomes immersed in a thrilling cat and mouse chase with the national media, a drugs gang and a towpath serial killer.

His second book ‘RIVER RATS’, which is set in Bath, was published this Spring and he is currently busy on his third which will be set on the River Isis in Oxford.

Andy told us why he set the Johnson and Wilde crime mysteries on the UK’s canals and waterways and how he began writing and being published after a long career as a journalist and manager at the BBC.
