MUD BOAT ‘TOW’
The old mud boat ‘Tow’, which was moored by the Scarfield Dingle Aqueduct in Alvechurch for a number of years, was eventually taken away for use as a storage facility for a live-aboard boater. It was initially moored by Birmingham University but for the last year or so has been seen around the Birmingham Canal Navigations.
The empty boat was returned to Alvechurch a week or two ago and left moored opposite the crane at the ABC marina. It is apparently due to go to the Cotswold Canal Trust to be used in conjunction with their restoration programme but is still in Alvechurch. When it will be moved, presumably craned out onto a low loader, is unclear at this point in time.
